10. Security of Data

Data Ownership & Isolation

Your data is completely siloed from other customers. You retain 100% ownership of your intellectual property, including recipes, formulations, and ingredient data, and it is never shared with any other client, third party, or external system. Customer data is encrypted at rest, and NutriLab personnel do not access customer recipe or ingredient data.

AI & Training Data Commitment

NutriLab may use artificial intelligence to assist users with tasks such as generating ingredient statements. We may expand AI assistance to additional features over time, such as recipe analysis, labeling suggestions, or nutritional insights. Regardless of any AI features offered, NutriLab will never use customer recipe, formulation, ingredient, or product data to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or machine learning model - whether operated by NutriLab or any third party. Your intellectual property is yours and will never be used as training data.

Infrastructure & Availability

Our Service is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS provides enterprise-grade infrastructure with 99.9% uptime reliability. Your data is automatically backed up in real time across multiple secure geographic regions. This protects against data loss and ensures the continuity of your operations.

User-Level Access Controls

NutriLab provides role-based access controls that allow account administrators to define exactly who within their organization can view or interact with specific recipes, formulations, and projects. This ensures that sensitive formulas are accessible only to those who need them, protecting your intellectual property from unauthorized internal access and external threats.

Continuous Monitoring

We utilize continuous, automated threat detection and monitoring to identify and respond to suspicious activity in real time. Our infrastructure leverages AWS-native security tools, including CloudWatch and automated alerting, to proactively flag anomalies before they become incidents. Security is treated as an ongoing practice, not a one-time configuration.

Real User Monitoring (RUM)

We may use Real User Monitoring tools to track performance and user experience metrics within our Service, such as page load times, navigation patterns, error rates, and feature usage frequency. This data is used solely to identify usability issues and improve platform performance. RUM tools do not access, record, or transmit the content of your work within NutriLab, including recipes, formulations, ingredient data, or any other intellectual property. Monitoring is strictly limited to interface-level interaction and performance signals.

General Security Practices

We use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Deletion of Data

If you use our Services, we will try to provide you with access to any personal information we have collected about you. If that information is inaccurate, we will provide you with ways to update or delete it, unless we are required to retain it for legitimate business or legal purposes.

If you ask us to update or delete your personal information, we may ask you to verify your identity before acting on your request. We may reject requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require unreasonable technical effort, risk the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical.

If you cancel a paid subscription, you may contact us to request the deletion of all your company data, including recipes, ingredients, and user accounts. This right applies to paid subscribers upon cancellation and does not apply to trial accounts, which are subject to our standard data retention practices.

12. Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, provide services on our behalf, or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
